RovaPDF Privacy Policy

How RovaPDF handles your information.

Effective date: June 23, 2026  ·  Last updated: June 23, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how KingBrain (“KingBrain,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the RovaPDF mobile application (the “App”) for Android and iOS. We built RovaPDF to be private by design: your documents are processed and stored on your device and are never uploaded to us. Please read this policy together with the Google Privacy Policy, which applies to the Google services used in the App.

The short version. We do not require an account or login, we do not set usage limits, and we never collect, upload, or sell the files you open or create. To keep the App free, RovaPDF includes Google AdMob (ads) and Google Firebase (analytics), which automatically collect limited technical and usage data such as an advertising identifier and app-interaction events. The details are below.

1. Who we are

The App is published by KingBrain. The App identifier is com.kingbrain.pdf. For any privacy questions or requests, contact us at support@kingbrainapps.com. For matters relating to data collected by third-party services, the relevant provider (for example, Google) acts as an independent controller of that data as described below.

2. Our privacy-first approach

RovaPDF is a PDF toolbox that works entirely on your device. You can open, view, edit text, annotate, sign, scan, run OCR, organize, merge, compress, watermark, convert, and password-protect documents without creating an account and without an internet connection for those features. The processing for these tools happens locally on your device.

3. Information that stays on your device

The following are handled locally on your device and are not collected by us:

If you delete the App, locally stored data created by the App (such as saved signatures and stored passwords) is removed from your device by the operating system, subject to your device’s backup settings.

4. Information collected automatically by third-party services

To offer the App for free, RovaPDF integrates services from Google that automatically collect certain data when you use the App. We do not control how these providers process the data they collect; their own privacy policies apply.

Google AdMob (advertising)

We display interstitial ads through Google AdMob. AdMob and Google may collect and process:

See the AdMob data disclosure and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Google Firebase / Google Analytics for Firebase

We use Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage so we can improve the App. It may collect app-interaction events (for example, screens viewed and features used), a non-permanent app-instance identifier, device and OS information, coarse region derived from IP address, and basic diagnostic/crash information. See the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation.

Google Mobile Ads SDK consent (UMP) and Apple App Tracking Transparency

In regions that require it (such as the EEA and the UK), the App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to request your consent before personalized ads are served. On iOS, the App presents Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you do not allow tracking, the advertising identifier is not used to track you and you will receive non-personalized ads.

Google Play services / ML Kit

Scanning and OCR features are delivered through Google Play services and ML Kit on-device APIs. These run locally; the App does not send your scanned images or recognized text to Google for these features. Google Play services may collect limited diagnostics as described in Google’s policies.

5. Device permissions we request

RovaPDF requests only the permissions needed for the feature you use:

PermissionWhy it is used
CameraTo capture pages when you use the document scanner. Used only while scanning; images are processed on-device.
Internet & network stateTo load ads and send anonymous analytics. PDF tools themselves do not require a connection.
Biometric / device authenticationTo protect access to saved passwords and protected documents using your fingerprint, face, or device passcode.
File access (Storage Access Framework / document picker)To let you choose a file from your device. The system file picker grants access only to the specific file you select; the App does not request broad storage permissions.

6. How information is used

We do not use your documents to build advertising or analytics profiles, and we do not sell personal information.

7. How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share your documents with anyone. The limited technical and usage data described in Section 4 is processed by our service providers (Google) acting as independent controllers or processors for the purposes stated. We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users, the public, or KingBrain.

8. Advertising & your choices

9. Data Safety summary

This summary corresponds to the Google Play Data Safety section. “Collected” means data leaves your device; “Shared” means it is transferred to a third party.

Data collected by Google for ads and analytics is encrypted in transit. The exact data elements are governed by Google’s policies and may be updated by Google over time.

10. Data retention

Files and App-created data remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. Advertising and analytics data collected by Google is retained according to Google’s retention practices and your account/device settings; you can reset your advertising identifier at any time to disassociate future data.

11. Data security

Because your documents stay on your device, their security is anchored to your device’s protections. Sensitive items the App stores — saved signatures and document passwords — are kept in platform-secure storage: the iOS Keychain (with Secure Enclave-backed, biometric/passcode-gated protection) and Android EncryptedSharedPreferences. Data transmitted by Google’s ad and analytics SDKs is encrypted in transit. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to protect your device with a passcode and biometric lock.

12. Children’s privacy

RovaPDF is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us at support@kingbrainapps.com and we will take appropriate steps.

13. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent.

EEA / UK (GDPR)

Our legal bases are your consent (for personalized advertising where required) and our legitimate interests (to provide a free, stable, and secure App and to measure aggregate usage). You may withdraw consent at any time through the in-app consent options and your device settings, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell personal information for money. Some sharing of identifiers for advertising may be considered “sharing” or a “sale” under California law; you can limit it by resetting your advertising ID and declining tracking/consent as described in Section 8. California residents may request access to or deletion of personal information and will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To exercise any right, email support@kingbrainapps.com. Because we operate without accounts, most personal data we could act on resides on your device or with Google; we will direct you to the appropriate controls where applicable.

14. International data transfers

The Google services used by the App may process data in the United States and other countries where Google or its sub-processors operate. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) as described in Google’s policies.

The App relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

If you open a file from, or share a file to, another app, that app’s privacy policy governs its handling of your data.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
